Cops: Rumors Of Romance Lead To Murder
On Feb. 28, 2009, cops say that Ricardo-Jauregui Balbuena was an angry man on a mission that would leave a Virginia man dead inside his home.
Officials tell AMW David Lopez-Malindez, a friend of Balbuena, was making claims that the two were romantically involved while attending a party the night before. When word got back to Balbuena, police say he was furious and hopped into an SUV with some friends to hunt David down.
Cops say Balbue then proceeded to shoot and kill David. Police discovered the body in David’s home.
Police were able to arrest Jose Salvador, the man they say helped Balbuena locate David, but were not able to track down the gunman.
U.S. Marshals Join The Manhunt
The United States Marshals have joined the investigation, and law enforcement in Virginia are hoping the two agencies working in tandem will help expedite this fugitive’s return to justice.
Balbuena is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair, and cops say he goes by the nickname Tego.
Detectives say Balbuena was previously arrested for possession of cocaine and that he’s known to frequent drag-themed bars.
