Sex Abuse Suspect A Former Cop
For 11 years, Edward Reisch made a living fighting crime. That's because he worked more than a decade for the Baltimore Police Department. But these days, the tables have turned. Reisch is no longer playing the part of crime fighter. Instead, he's become a fugitive. Police say on November, 27, 1999 Reisch commited one of the most horrible kind of crimes possible. Cops say he sexually abused a minor female relative who was visiting his home over the Thanksgiving holiday. Since then, the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City issued a warrant for Reisch's arrest, charging him with child abuse, sexual assault and sodomy. Police say he was last seen in Maryland but also has ties to Pennsylvania.
Thoughts? The above was the archived case description for Reisch from the old AMW website. He was a web-exclusive case. He was also on the FBI's website but was removed. (I checked the Maryland court case search system and there is still a warrant in there with no movement in his case so I think it's safe to assume he's still a wanted- I put Crime Stoppers as the number to call though since I'm unsure if the FBI would still handle the search for Reisch).
Although a tv airing and not just website profile might have helped, as we've seen in other cases, cops who become fugitives are extremely difficult to locate. However, it's not impossible and Edward Reisch is likely still out there.

Admin Note #1: Although we included what we believe to be the nearest crime stoppers line for his wanted location (Baltimore, Maryland), according to the U.S. Marshals website, the WPAFTF (Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force) is also soliciting tips in Western Pennsylvania because of Reisch’s has substantial ties in the Trafford and Turtle Creek areas. Law enforcement has received tips indicating that Reisch has frequented the area over the years. On at least one occasion, Reisch reportedly fled a local restaurant after being recognized in public by somebody who he believed to be a former acquaintance.
