Cold case fugitive Domingo "Mingo" N. Rodriguez was aired on the September 16th, 2006 episode of America's Most Wanted. Below is the archive description of his alleged crime:
Chicago Cops Grapple With Cold Case
Cops on Chicago's Cold Case Squad consider the man calling himself Domingo Rodriguez to be one of their Five Most Wanted Fugitives. They say this Mexican National stole another man's identity, and has been using it to commit crimes ever since... beginning with a vicious murder in 1995.
It was May 7th in Chicago, Illinois. Police were called to the scene of a murder. The victim was 38-year-old Roberto Nino. He was laying dead in the alley behind an apartment building at 1605 S. Blue Island.
Roberto had been stabbed with a knife, again and again and left there to die.
Brutal Slaying Over Simple Argument
Witnesses at a nearby barbeque told police they saw Domingo Rodriguez and Roberto Nino arguing on the back porch of the second floor. They told police they saw Rodriguez stab Roberto Nino in the chest.
They said Roberto tried to get away... leaving a trail of blood as he slid down the back steps. Then witnesses said they saw Rodriguez follow Roberto down the steps and stab him several more times, killing him.
The witnesses told cops that all the argument was about was Roberto standing on Rodriguez's porch.
Multiple Arrests Under A New Name
When detectives tried to track down the accused killer, that's when he assumed the name Domingo Rodriguez. He even began using the identification numbers of the real Domingo Rodriguez.
Police say he was arrested several times in Chicago and even deported. But, he escaped their notice and has not been seen since the homicide warrant was issued.
Thoughts? I am assuming "Rodriguez" is still at large as of this posting date (6/14/2015) since I haven't found anything online suggesting otherwise. Of course, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
Obviously, this is an extremely petty argument that definitely belongs in the senseless crimes hall of fame (or shame).
The good news is although his photo is outdate by now there a lot of good clues and physical characteristics. It should also be pointed out, according to his old archive, that Rodriguez lived in an apartment with two other men who sought construction jobs in exchange for rent. So obviously, he may still be in construction.
