On Dec 22, 2012, several friends held a party in the morning when two armed men wearing ski masks broke inside. The two home invaders, Jorge Ruiz and Eric Torres, along with an accomplice, Carlos Olvera, knew the party-goers from a drug trafficking ring they were apparently all involved in. Authorities say Jorge Ruiz shot and killed Rigoberto Olivarez 15 times with a 223. caliber rifle in front of his wife while Miguel Rodriguez was kidnapped by the three men. Police engaged in a pursuit and the trio abandoned their truck leaving Miguel Rodriguez unharmed physically.
Two years after the incident in October 2014, Carlos Olvera was arrested while trying to illegally enter the United States from Mexico. He is currently facing murder charges while Jorge Ruiz and Eric Torres are still at large.

Thoughts? The story of this case was in my favourites computer bar for quite some time so I decided to bring the case to this forum. The motive for Rigoberto Olivarez's murder was apparently a botched drug deal, but Rigoberto did not deserve to be a homicide victim, especially having been shot more than a dozen times. As far as whereabouts for Ruiz and Torres go, they're probably hiding out in Mexico but may travel to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas (Brownsville, McAllen, etc).
According to online articles, Police are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ruiz, Torres or Olvera to call Mission PD at (956) 584-5060 or Crime Stoppers at (956) 581-8477
