AMW being what John Walsh calls the "court of last resort" really has some meaning when you consider that most cases don't get extensive media attention when compared to missing people. As we've seen from the individual fugitive threads, alot of the time there isn't much online coverage of a fugitive or none even exists.
As far as more recent cases, you would think that they would have a story once per year, acknowleding that a fugitive is still wanted, especially if he/she is wanted for murder. For example, despite being one of the most infamous recent fugitives on AMW, Jesus "Chuy" Canales hasn't had an article about his case since shortly after he went on the run in 2008. Another recent infamous fugitive, Cathy Morales, hasn't had an article since shortly after she went on the run in 2011. And I can't find a single article for the well-hated Jorge Nunez-Paz.
There may a few reasons for this; first being that there are so many fugitives wanted for murder that it's impossible to do yearly stories on all of them; the fugitives mostly aren't believed to be in the area they're wanted out of so covering them won't help the investigation; and for fugitives wanted on less-serious felonies, they aren't considered to be that significant to pay attention to. This means that our individual fugitive threads in the recent-fugitives section will likely get updated only occassionally.
Then there are the cold case fugitives. Unfortunately, they become less signficant as time goes on like cold cases do in general. I doubt we'll ever see articles again on certain early AMW profiles like Nicholas Dolce and Gerald Hemp and maybe we'll see the odd article on say Alvarado Alvarado and Larry Porter Chism.
