Bao Luong was aired as a break-four tease on the December 4th, 2004 episode of America's Most Wanted. Below is the archived description of his case:
Danger In The Workplace
Over the past decade, violent crime has declined steadily, according to the Justice Department. But there's an alarming trend hidden in that good news-- an increase in workplace violence. In fact, one of the fastest growing forms of homicide is work-place murder.
Back in 1991, police say three men in Leesburg, Va. formed a deadly triangle that contributed to that statistic.
Promises Made, Promises Not Broken
Ngau Ly worked with his brother Duong Ly in the window shop department of a manufacturing plant. But during the workday on September 25, 1991, Ngau made a decision that would cost him his life. Police say that Ngau stopped at the door shop next to the plant, and took some wood. Other employees at the plant told cops that a fight broke out between Ngau and Bao Luong, another employee from the door shop. Witnesses say they heard Luong yelling at Ngau, telling him that if he tried to take one more piece of wood, he would be killed.
Later in the day, Ngau's brother accompanied him back to the door shop in an attempt to settle the feud. But police say Luong wasn't in the mood to make up-- and investigators believe Luong was so angry from the argument, he decided to make good on his promise.
Luong Carries Out His Threat
Police say the following night, Duong Ly and Ngau were sitting in their car, when Luong pulled up next to them. Cops say Luong fired shots into the car, hitting Ngau twice. Duong Ly tried to drive away, but was also hit twice. He was lucky to survive, but Ngau was not so fortunate. He died at the scene.
Police say Duong Ly identified the shooter as Bao Luong, and the've been looking for him ever since.
Thoughts? This case is just ridiculous. He shot Ngau to death because he didn't like that he took some wood from the workplace? This is obviously a murder that belongs in the senseless crimes hall of fame.
Luong has managed to stay on the run for 24 years now and while I wish AMW did more than just a break-four tease on him, it is nice to see a relatively recent article from 2013 with a new age-enhanced sketch which I posted above.
Hopefully Luong's day still comes. If he's still using "Charles Bronsons" for an alias I feel good about our chances.
