There's a disagreement online as to what his first name is, the Department Of Corrections in Washington State says it's "Derek" while the Justice Network says it's "Derk", so I went with the official name from law enforcement. The Justice Network is in Atlanta home of TNT and NBA basketball so maybe they were thinking of Dallas Mavericks star "Dirk Nowitzki" and got confused.  Seriously, according to another page I found Ferguson was convicted of two counts of child molestation in the first-degree and one count of failure to register. His convictions were in 2006, and failure to register was in 07. Does this mean he only got one year? Yikes if so. In any case, we can deduce this man is a serious threat to children considering he was convicted of first-degree molestation, so hopefully someone out there recognizes Ferguson and turns him in. |

Update: Derek Ferguson had been arrested, On June 1, 2015, Authorities of Buckley and Enumclaw Police, Department of Corrections officers and King Country Sheriff's Office arrested Derek Ferguson in Buckley, Washington as a result of the fight where Officer broke his leg.

Ferguson apparently at-large again listed on Washington DOC warrants search (ironically was looking at a different case when I noticed his name), new warrant issued in 2019 and still listed as having a warrant in Washington DOC search as of September 30th, 2019. Probably failed to register again. Moving him back to Fugitives on TV as a result. Also granted it might be a different case but this fugitive was also possibly one of the site's first ever hate e-mails, a woman complained, with very poor grammar, that "all you are" stupid ignorant idiots and Derek never touched a child. Leave him alone and let him live a normal life." If this is the same case, Derek was convicted in a court of law, then allegedly fought officers, and has apparently went on the run yet again- in my opinion, he's not exactly showing any sign of being a model citizen based on that.
