John Erick Anderson is a former member of the Texas Department of Public Saftey's Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list who is still being searched for on the department's website. Below is their description of his case:
John Erick Anderson was born in Minnesota on September 25, 1960. He was arrested on January 25, 1987, at the US/Mexico border after two juvenile females accused him of sexual assault. Anderson had molested both girls over a period of three years, beginning when the girls were nine and ten years of age, with the assaults gradually escalating from fondling to sexual intercourse by force. Anderson was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Indecency with a Child and began serving his 10-year sentence on May 19, 1987. He was paroled on October 5, 1993.
On July 9, 1998, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for Anderson's arrest for Parole Violation after he failed to register as a sex offender and absconded from the Austin area.
Prior to his disappearance in 1998, Anderson worked as a missionary for his father, who is a minister, and has also held jobs in construction, carpentry, and general labor. He speaks fluent Spanish and may be living outside the United States.
Thoughts? As dangerous as Anderson is to children, it is understandable why they'd remove him from the Top 10 after 17 years since room does need to be made for new fugitives eventually. Even Charles Klein was removed from the Top 10 and he was on AMW. The good news is he's still featured on the website as an additional fugitive. I think Anderson may be in a Latin American country. I just fear what he could be doing since his father was a minister.
