Austin Cole Hernandez has been missing from Tehachapi, California since 1997. As far as I know, the case was never on AMW. Below is the Charley Project description of the case:
Austin disappeared from Tehachapi, California on April 28, 1997. He was abducted by his non-custodial father, Gilbert Arredondo Hernandez. Gilbert's photograph and vital statistics are posted below this case summary. A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) warrant was issued for him on November 4, 1997. He may be driving a brown 1986 Nissan Maxima with the California license plate number 1NRE732.
Austin's mother, Rhonda Accord, was married to Gilbert and living with him at the time of the abduction. She came home to find her husband and son gone. She stated Gilbert had previously threatened to leave her and take Austin. Gilbert may have taken Austin to Las Vegas, Nevada, or to Los Angeles County or San Bernadino County in California. Acord believes his family may know his and Austin's whereabouts. Austin's case remains unsolved.
Thoughts? Austin would be 18 years old today. As I've stated with many other cases of infant abductions, he still might have no idea he was ever kidnapped. Especially if Gilbert's family has been helping as his mother suspects. The good news is there is still a possibility Austin is in the states based on the Charley Project account.
