Absolutely awful (another understatement), but maybe Mexico should have taken him more seriously rather than just releasing him. In no way am I happy or saying they asked for it, but it's unfortunate if what else has been alleged is true since all they had to do was send him back quick enough. (The timing of that statute of limitations is awfully suspicious to me. I realize extradition is never quick, but how convenient for the clock to just literally run out like that).

Sorry realized the allegations were before the arrest. Still, Mexico took their sweet time arresting him. You'd think allegations involving Beltran and POLICE CHIEF's daughter would get them off their butt, but nope, still took forever and waited until their definition of limitations had run out.

Also I realize it seems he was never charged in Mexico, just you'd think he'd send him back to us for his charges here to get rid of a guy like that. (Or if not that investigate if theres enough evidence to prosecute him for his alleged crimes in Mexico first).
Wow talked way more than expected lol.

That’s exactly the reaction While I was reading the article. But then again I think it’s the fact that the Catholic hierarchy is looked upon highly there and because church officials have more powers ever since Government Control and restrictions were relaxed in 1992. So the reason they didn’t make a move until 2008 is because of that.

As of July 16th, 2018, Beltran is still listed on the FBI's website as a wanted fugitive. (Same link as in the OP).

Here’s an article from August 2008 on Beltran’s release from Jail and eventual disappearance. Again there are some very awful details about what he did to one of his victims. Honestly there needs to be some sort of pressure on Mexico to extradite him back to the U.S. www.modbee.com/news/local/article3112999.html

Remember back in 2013 or so before Yaser Said was added that it took them awhile to add him because it was a very controversial case regarding the fact that was an honor killing, I think what the FBI needs on its Top Ten List is another case that is somewhat controversial I guess like the Yaser Said case.
The Catholic Church sex abuses are very controversial because let’s be honest there are some very religious people who will ignore these things because in their mind “the church can do no wrong” and this case will weigh heavy on the Top Ten List if added just for the fact that he’s a Catholic priest with not 1 or 2 victims but 4 victims under the age of 4, he was captured once in 2008 and he may be harming more children.
Of all cases I’ve mentioned in the last several months to replace Yaser Said, I feel this one is more than appropriate for the list.
