From the Southern Maryland Chronicle:
Charles County, MD – Authorities are renewing efforts to solve a 27-year-old cold case involving the homicide of Elizabeth Sloane, a Capitol Heights resident, whose body was discovered near the Charles County Fairgrounds on October 6, 1997. Despite extensive investigations and multiple leads, the identity of her killer remains unknown.
Officers with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded to a report at approximately 6 p.m. that evening, finding Sloane’s body wrapped in a blanket in a field. The 33-year-old was later identified and transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office, where her death was ruled a homicide.
Since then, investigators have been working to track down the person or persons responsible, but the case has gone unsolved for nearly three decades. The CCSO, in partnership with Charles County Crime Solvers, is offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Authorities are urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. Tips can be provided anonymously through Charles County Crime Solvers by calling 1-866-411-TIPS. The anonymity of all tipsters is guaranteed.

Thoughts? I am placing Juanita’s case in the National Media section because the search for her killer was profiled on Dateline NBC’s “Cold Case Spotlight “ digital series.
