Former amw fugitive wanted out of Jacksonville for murder chip Carter who was apprehended after 2 years on the run first he fled to Mexico then to western Kentucky he killed his his ex girlfriend Elizabeth Smith reed glen paffdord and Courtney Smith reed one of her siblings who was 14 at the time found the three victims on the floor of there Arlington Jacksonville home and clutched his dead sister in his arms until first responders showed up Carter ran for two years until his apprehension in western Kentucky he was initially sentenced to death but do to a Florida supreme Court ruling in 2017 if not all 12 jurors could not agree on the punishment they defendants had to have a resentencing hearing carter was sentenced to life in prison on one count but on other two counts he was resentenced to death row he was tried to blame his actions on everyone and besides himself he blamed his father while in his resentencing hearing he described his father as a domineering abusive monster but even if that was the case he made his choices he claimed he accidentally shot Courtney the prosecutor said the magic bullet was not believable I firmly believe carter is evil and will never take responsibility for his heinous actions good riddance if anyone has anymore info on the amw airing would love to hear it news4jax is my source
