Rafael Jimenez Jimenez, 43, is suspected of stabbing and killing Juan Carlos Diaz-Cruz near the intersection of Beech Street and Dewey Avenue on Sept. 15. There is an outstanding warrant for his arrest for homicide. Police believe the two were in an altercation before Diaz-Cruz was stabbed in the abdomen. He underwent emergency surgery but died at 10:45 p.m. Police say the suspect is homeless and is reported to frequent encampments throughout Salinas. "Detectives have developed information that the suspect is armed with a handgun. Jimenez is also reported to suffer from alcoholism and to use methamphetamines," said police in a media release. The knife used in the stabbing has not been found. Police ask that if you see him, you do not approach him due to his history of unpredictable and volatile behavior. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Robbie Miller at 831-758-7945 Admin Note: If you have any (news-related) updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

Thanks for posting this. I have a feeling if not caught by tips or the canvassing of homeless shelters, Jimenez is eventually going to wind up arrested on his own anyway due to his said volatile behavior. But hopefully that happens before he allegedly harms anyone else.

This reminds me of the Robert phompong case just in the fact that both were homeless and both were difficult to track
