Former Houston police officer Gerald goins has been convicted of the double homicide of a couple in a 2019 incident In during a police raid in Houston called the harding street raid in which a embittered neighbor named Patricia ann Garcia who was eventually charged with the swatting call and was sentenced to 40 months in prison Gerald goins and his band of of crooked cops allegedly found narcotics and a gun battle ensued in the residence the two victims named Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nichols were butchered and they suffered multiple gunshots and died at the scene at first the Houston pd were cleared of wrongdoing but Gerald goins was later arrested by the fbi do to the victims families hiring a renowned forensics program and they found that a lot of the evidence didn't add up first off the injuries that many of the officers faced were from friendly fire the shotguns and rifles were not found nor was the heroin mentioned in the call and there was no video footage and a lot of evidence collected was left behind goins was arrested in 2019 but was convicted in 2024 and also faces federal charges goins was sentenced to 60 years in a Harris county courtroom and will never be able to get out

It's a very complex case there is a Wikipedia page called the harding street raid that elaborates more on it you will have to do a little digging in your own because like I said it's very complicated but another thing I will say this case reminds me of a cross between Eddie hicks and Eddie burge who I just realized were both named Eddie it's t that ironic he was corrupt and planted evidence at the houses and burge because dozens of convictions linked to goins have been either overturned or exonerated apparently goins has some ties to the Houston drug conviction of George Floyd however the Texas court of criminal appeals didn't issue either a pardon or a exoneration but I do think it is possible
