Beaver County Jane Doe was a woman whose embalmed, severed head was found in a wooded area in 2014.
Her head had likely been severed by someone with anatomical knowledge and her eyes had been replaced with red rubber balls, which is inconsistent with the funeral industry. However, the method in which she was embalmed suggests that it was done in a funeral home rather than a medical school or something similar.
Traces of a medication used to treat heart failure was found in her system and she may have passed away from a heart condition. Foul play is not suspected in her death.
Characteristics
Gray/partially gray hair.

Her case was featured on the fourth season of the Unsolved Mysteries on an episode titled “The Severed Head,” in 2024.

Thoughts? I am placing this case in the National Media section because it was on the latest version of Unsolved Mysteries (Voulme 5- episode 3) on Netflix. I submitted a tip to Unsolved just in case since I feel she resembles Elizabeth Duke but the main theory in the case sort of strays from that.
That main theory in the case is that a busy body homeowner that lived near the scene (and later committed suicide) purposely placed the head there to attempt to frame a teenage boy and fellow neighbor who found it. To make a long story short he had a falling out with the boy who was once his friend and had accused him of killing his horse near the scene of where this head was found- it is believed this is not likely a murder case but rather the neighbor had an odd knowledge of the black market of chop shops that hold hotel conferences where they dismember bodies and sell body parts. So the main theory is he obtained the head from the black market and placed it there.
I do want to stress this neighbor was never officially charged in the case before his death but he seems to be someone authorities were suspicious of.
