CANTON (25News Now) - A Canton man is wanted by multiple law enforcement agencies for alleged child abduction.
Canton Police say Michael J. Roberts, 44, is wanted for the alleged abduction that happened in Alton on Tuesday.
Police said Roberts was watching the victim from a nearby parking lot, drove up to her and told her to get in his car. The victim refused and Roberts then allegedly told her a second time to get in the car. The victim then took out her phone, threatening to call police. Roberts then drove back to Canton, Illinois. The incident happened around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say Roberts told them he was offering the victim a ride, adding he did not she was 15.
Police said he was last known to drive a black Dodge Charger with Illinois plates of BU74669.
Anyone who knows where Roberts is is asked to call the police department at 309-647-5131.

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Roberts is still at large as of today’s posting date (September 16th, 2024), since the above article is from only three days ago with no updates about a capture that I could find online since.
