From lancasteronline.com:
State police are still searching for a Berks County man five months after he failed to show up for his trial and conviction in a case where he tried to solicit sex from a 12-year-old girl.
Bradley Andrew Buchanan, 39, of Birdsboro, was convicted in October of 11 charges related to a sex trafficking sting in August 2022. Police said he agreed to pay $250 to who he thought was a careaker of a 12 year old he wanted to have sex with. Police caught Buchanan at a Salisbury Township motel.
The sting was conducted by the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Human Trafficking Task Force.
Buchanan posted bail three days after his arrest and did not show up for any of his trial dates, according to a spokesman for the district attorney. State police opened an arrest warrant for Buchanan on Oct. 13, the day he was convicted.
Buchanan forfeited $100,000 bail by fleeing, court records show.
According to the Pottstown Mercury and Reading Eagle, Buchanan, a former state constable, was convicted of statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors in 2012. He was sentenced to 6 to 23 months in jail and five years of probation, according to court documents.
Buchanan faces a minimum sentence of 25 to 50 years in prison, as this was his second-strike offense.
Anyone with information about Buchanan’s whereabouts should call state police at 717-299-7656 or leave a tip through the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers website, crimewatchpa.com/crimestoppers. Anyone who provides information that leads to his arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
