RAND, W.Va. (WBOY) — A case involving a West Virginia resident who has been on the run since earlier this month has been upgraded to a “major case,” U.S. Marshals announced Thursday.
Marshals announced on Aug. 9 that they were searching for Tiwan Bailey, 48, of Rand, West Virginia, who is considered armed and dangerous. He is wanted on federal charges related to operating a sex trafficking group that included underage victims, according to the U.S. Marshals Southern District of West Virginia.
At that time, a $5,000 reward was being offered for anyone who gave information that led to Bailey’s arrest. Now, the case has been upgraded to a major case and the reward raised to $10,000.
Major cases are used to prioritize apprehending high-profile offenders who are considered among the most dangerous in the country, a release from the U.S. Marshals said.
Bailey is a Black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6’4″ tall, weighs approximately 250 pounds and sometimes goes by the alias “Quick.”
Anyone with information can submit it anonymously online here or by phone at the USMS Tip Hotline at 1-877-926-8332 or the USMS Southern District of West Virginia at 304-347-5136.
