(WVUE) - The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a rape suspect who missed his trial date. Gerald Stevens, 55, of Roseland, failed to appear at his trial on Monday, July 15, for a third-degree rape charge involving a juvenile from 2021. Stevens was last seen Wednesday afternoon at a relative’s home in Roseland. He was reportedly driving a blue and silver Chevrolet Silverado Z71 with Louisiana license plate Z277939. Deputies say Stevens was armed with a rifle and reportedly made threats about harming himself. Sheriff Gerald Sticker says anybody with information about Stevens’ whereabouts is asked to contact officials at 985-902-2070.
