ESCONDIDO, Calif. – A manhunt was underway Tuesday for a man suspected of killing an elderly woman after she was found dead in her Escondido home, police said. Escondido police were called to the home on Mountain View Drive around 9:35 Monday night to do a welfare check on a man who threatened his father. Officers knocked down the door after no one answered. Once inside, they found an elderly woman who had been shot to death, police said. The initial investigation indicates the victim was likely killed by someone else living in the home, Joseph Stuber. He was seen leaving the home in his car just before police showed up. Stuber, 46, is a high-risk registered sex offender and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous, according to Escondido police. He was twice convicted of lewd acts with a child under 14. Stuber was sentenced to 16 years in prison in 1996 for grabbing a boy on a North Broadway school playground and trying to molest him and also for repeatedly molesting another boy before that. He was released from prison and moved to Escondido in July 2007. Stuber is described as about 5’10” with brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be driving a 2007 silver Toyota Tacoma with license plate 8J70011. Under no circumstances should anyone attempt to contact or detain Stuber, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police. fox5sandiego.com/2015/03/10/manhunt-underway-for-escondido-murder-suspect/

Considering Stuber's history and now being wanted for killing an elderly woman, I felt this warranted breaking news. I really hope he's caught before he can harm anyone else.
