Roque Colin-Tapia has been one of Weld County's Most Wanted fugitives since 2010. He was on AMW as a web-exclusive fugitive. Below is the archived description of his case:
Cops: Gang Member Flees After Fatal Stabbing
On Oct. 16, 2010, a group of Evans, Colo., kids were celebrating graduation. But cops say not all the guests were invited.
The party took a dangerous turn when a few of the guests began to arm wrestle. Things got heated and eventually moved outside. That’s when cops say two guys got into an altercation. Police were called to the scene and found 20-year-old Casey Korgan lying in the street. He had been stabbed multiple times.
Investigators went to work and were able to identify one of the “uninvited” guests as Casey’s alleged killer: 19-year-old Roque Colin-Tapia. But when police searched his Gill, Colo., home, Colin-Tapia had already taken off.
Cops say Colin-Tapia is a known gang member and may be carrying a knife. Before fleeing, cops say he was emplyed at Aurora Organic Dairy in the Gill, Colo. area. Colin-Tapia is a hispanic male, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Casey Korgan died of his injuries at the Northern Colorado Medical Center. Investigators have been hard at work trying to track down Roque Colin-Tapia, but now it’s your turn to help.
Thoughts? Not that any should, but this is a particular tragic murder that did not have to happen. Over arm wrestling. It doesn't get any more senseless than that.
