From wndu.com:
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - It has been 30 years, but the sounds from the murder scene are still just as haunting.
South Bend police were called to the 200 block of N. Kenmore Street on May 28, 1994.
“Ronnie was inside the home. Presumably, there was a knock on the door and three individuals then entered the home. After somewhat of a struggle there was shots fired and the shots did strike Ronnie,” explains Lt. Kayla Miller with Michiana Crime Stoppers.
19-year-old Ronnie Ciesielski was found suffering from those gunshot wounds. Lifesaving measures were taken, but it was too late. He died from his injuries while still at the home.
His sister told us he was at a friend’s house when this all happened.
Detectives say three men were involved. They are being described as three Black men, late teens to early 20s, seen running from the home about three or four minutes before the police officers were called. They were then seen fleeing the area.
“Detectives tell me they have leads and persons of interest on this case. Again, we are just missing a few very small pieces that we are hoping we can pull together,” Lt. Miller says.
If you have any information, you are asked to contact Michiana Crime Stoppers. Every single tip is 100% anonymous.
“If nothing else, it is reminding folks that we have not forgotten Ronnie,” Lt. Miller says. “If you are out there and you have information, just put yourself in their shoes.”
If your tip leads to the solving of this case or an arrest, you would be eligible for a $2,500 cash reward.
“The moment we are able to provide them with the answers they are looking for, everything in their world will change,” Lt. Miller explains.
You can reach Michiana Crime Stoppers by calling 574-288-STOP (7867). You can also submit a tip online.
