From the Colorado Gazette (gazette.com):
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has identified a suspect in the shooting that took place in the 6000 block of Chantilly Place in El Paso County on May 16. The victim's father, 51-year-old Dan Medina, fled the area and has not been located at time of publication. Medina is currently wanted for attempted murder and is considered armed and dangerous.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received the 911 call regarding the shooting at 10:28 a.m. the morning of May 16. According to the press release, multiple callers reported between six to 10 shots fired.
Upon arrival to the scene, deputies provided medical assistance to the male victim, and he was sent to a local hospital via AMR transportation.
If anyone from the community encounters Medina, they are encouraged to call 911 immediately and avoid approaching him. Anyone with any information regarding the case can contact the El Paso County Communications Center at 719-390-5555.
This is an active investigation, and no other information is available at this time.

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Medina is still at large as of today’s posting date (May 26th, 2024), since the above article is from only a few days ago and I don’t see him in El Paso County inmate listings. However, if that status has since changed and/or changes in the future, anyone is more than welcome to let us know.
