It would definitely make the news. This is a high profile case that has been on America's Most Wanted (why he was posted here in the first place.)
However last year Roger Giese's arrest wasn't announced publicly until a year later in California (where he was wanted out of) news outlets.
I take it the same could happen with Zalewski.

Also not sure about procedure. Usually there's some sort of extradition process that takes at least a year with many countries, even the ones we have good relations with.

According to a source that e-mailed us, apparently Zalewski was arrested for a similar crime in England. Hopefully this means they won't be so kind to him as they were to Roger Giese who was just simply just discovered hiding there, not in the process of a crime.

Personally I'm glad he's been arrested and he did what every expert knows he'd do, he's likely to reoffend if by similar you mean what he's accused of in Pennsylvania.

Agreed, Hopefully that's very soon, but he'd have to go through all the processes over there since he is said to have committed a crime

Gerard Zalewski 32, groomed his 13 year old victim over the internet, and manipulated the victim via this grooming process to send a number of indecent images of her to him before arranging to meet her in a park in Bamber Bridge in June 2016. Zalewski, of Dartford in Kent, subjected his vulnerable victim to sexual abuse over several hours including taping her mouth with masking tape, putting a dog collar around her neck and writing the words ‘rape me’ on her leg. He then took pictures of her on his mobile phone. Following the incident Zalewski fled but was arrested in Kent on 21st June 2016 after a man-hunt. He pleaded guilty in October to two counts of penetrative sexual activity with a child; meeting a child following sexual grooming; making indecent photographs of a child and false imprisonment. He appeared at Preston Crown Court today (Tuesday 6th December) for sentence. He was imprisoned for a total of 12 years and given an extended indeterminate licence period. |

Basically Zalewski was sentenced to 12 years in prison in England but we technically can't call him captured since he hasn't been sent back to the United States yet and it's yet to be determined if he will be after he serves his time. In any case at least he got a decent chunk of jail time unlike Roger Giese. I'm sorry there had to be another victim for that to happen though.

Understood. I never spoke to that guy before that e-mail and have no advice to give you, just sent him the message for you out of professional courtesy.
Hopefully we can learn more details about this case regardless if they help paint a bigger picture.
