Hugo Echeverria is wanted in connection with two separate homicides in a 17-year time period. Authorities allege that in 1993, Hugo shot Solomon Mendoza-Mojica to death and shot and wounded a second victim inside an apartment complex. This is according to a document in Dallas County's court records database. Hugo fled to Mexico after Solomon's homicide.
Hugo then eventually returned to Dallas. That is when in 2010, he allegedly shot and killed 40-year-old Ricardo Lopez Beltran over an argument regarding money. Hugo then drove off in Ricardo's SUV which is why he was charged with capital murder in that case. Hugo is still at large to this day.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact North Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-877-373-TIPS (8477) if you have any information on Hugo Echeverria's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, February 24, 2024, Hugo's 1993 murder case is in open status, according to Dallas County's Odyssey court records database. There have also been no court filings since 1993. The 2010 capital murder was not there which means it has not gone before a grand jury yet. In my experience, newer murder/capital murder cases only go before a grand jury in Dallas County if the defendant is in custody.
It is obvious that Hugo is an extremely dangerous and violent fugitive. I fear that he may be responsible for additional violent crimes in Mexico, including homicide. I assume that after allegedly killing Ricardo, Hugo fled back to Mexico. Judging by his history, Hugo may still return to Dallas one day.
I hope that the families of Solomon and Ricardo get the justice and accountability they deserve.
