LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - A man from Apache faces serious jail time after he’s accused of leaving the scene of a fatal crash in Comanche County back in September.
56-year-old Randy Herring faces three felony charges, including first-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of a fatal crash, and the unauthorized use of a vehicle.
According to court documents, Herring was driving a truck that didn’t belong to him, when he was allegedly stopped in the middle of the roadway when a motorcycle, driven by Gilbert Crow, hit the truck.
Crow later died of his wounds, meanwhile, Herring allegedly took off, but court documents allege a Comanche Nation Police Officer’s body cam showed Herring at the scene while authorities attempted life-saving measures.
Authorities were able to connect the hit-and-run back to Herring after the truck’s owner came forward.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on Thursday.

Thoughts? Based on online article posting dates, Herring was still at large at least as of yesterday (February 23rd, 2024). Articles don’t state who to specifically call if you know his whereabouts so for now I’d recommend your local police or crime stoppers line.
