From cbs17.com:
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the shooting death of an Army veteran. The department is now looking one person for questioning in connection to the murder.
Jossiel Rodriguez Perez, 40, was shot and killed on Smith Road on the evening of Nov. 27. In a 911 call, a man told dispatchers he and others were tracking down a stolen trailer equipped with GPS.
“My boy’s trailer was getting robbed and he had a GPS on it, and we had called the cops about it, and they on their way,” the 911 caller said.
When the group arrived to Smith Road in Fayetteville they said the suspected thieves opened fire on them, wounding Perez. He later died at the hospital.
Deputies are now looking for 42-year-old Dewey Lee Smith of Fayetteville for questioning in reference to the shooting.
Forty-year-old William Keith Wilson II of Stedman, who police previously said they were looking for, is no longer wanted for questioning.
The sheriff’s office said Amber Byrne, 35, and Kevin Lambert Brewington, 34, are no longer wanted for questioning.
Anyone with information on where Smith may be or with information about the shooting is asked to call Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detective Sergeant J. Mcleod at (910) 677-5548 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477)

Thoughts? Based on a new article, Smith was still being sought for questioning at least as of two days ago (February 22nd, 2024). Please note he is wanted for questioning only. We previously profiled Byrne and Wilson when they were wanted for questioning only as well and in fairness to them deleted the thread on them when they were located. That is not to say Smith doesn’t have to answer some serious questions, and it is imperative that he is located as well.
