(Above photo credit: audacy.com via Laurens Police Department) From audacy.com: The Father of a 1 year old child who went into cardiac arrest Monday, brought on by a fentanyl overdose, is wanted out of Laurens County. Police say Tyrist Johnson is dangerous, wanted on numerous charges, including fentanyl possession, and may be armed. Police were called to a home on Gray Street Monday. Inside they found the child sweating and showing signs of distress. The 1 year old did test positive for fentanyl at the hospital. Officers also found approximately 1 gram of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and ammunition. The child's mother, Naja Simpson, is charged with unlawful neglect of a child and others. Two other children in the home, 5 and 6, are in the care of the Department of Social Services. Anyone who sees Tyrist Johnson should not approach him, but call 911 immediately.www.audacy.com/989word/news/local/1-year-old-goes-into-cardiac-arrest-after-fentanyl-overdoseThoughts? This is becoming a relatively common occurrence fentanyl is a horrific drug one of the officers found a bag of it in my town they had gloves on and it went through the officers skin and clothing and they almost got killed by it most of the crimes in town is narcotics related with few others but we also have a few murders and other violent crimes we have a few transplanted gang members usually from Atlanta and Chattanooga even Asheville and charlotte my teacher told me that we are at a crossroads and fentanyl is becoming a very common drug here we even have billboards saying one blunt statement fentanyl kills

Yeah I mean I don't condone them but usally drug dealers aren't my highest priority when it comes to my personal most wanted fugitives- but fentanyl is the one exception I take very seriously (not that I don't take the others seriosuly) since it seeps into even the more innocuous types of drugs. I know I sound like a broken record on this but I would actually like to see a fentanyl dealer on the top ten list. This case is horrible, and we just have to hope Johnson is caught soon.

First Anthony Ojeda and Neal (sp?) Garzon were suspected of poisoning a 6 week old with drugs, now we have this case. If Tyrist unfortunately makes it a year on the run, perhaps he could replace Ojeda on the US Marshals' 15 Most Wanted list.
