Rigoberto Covarrubias is wanted for the homicides of his girlfriend, 23-year old Yesli Velazquez Gonzalez and her six-year old son, Angel Velazquez. Rigoberto allegedly shot both of the victims to death. There had been evidence of ongoing domestic abuse before the homicides.
Rigoberto was named a suspect publicly in the days after the homicides. Los Angeles County's court records database shows the charge for two counts of homicide was filed on July 21, 2022. On March 13, 2023, the custody status was updated as a no bail warrant. A search of Tiktok videos shows the family posted a video later that March request for this case to be shared in order to get justice.
A translated Univision article mentioned that Rigoberto may have fled to either Texas or Zacatecas, Mexico.
Based on crime location, it is advised to visit www.lacrimestoppers.org/ to submit an anonymous tip to Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers if you have any information on Rigoberto Covarrubias's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, February 3, 2024, Rigoberto's case in Los Angeles County's court records database has no disposition and no filings since the no bail warrant entry. It seems like the original warrant had a bail amount attached to it but it was later updated. Rigoberto is also shown to not be in custody, according to the Los Angeles County inmate search database.
I do admit that I finally had to install Tiktok on my phone in order to properly research this case. It seems to be the era where certain horrific fugitive homicide cases are forgotten about by traditional media and are only talked about on Tiktok. I have no problem with publicizing these types of cases on Tiktok, but law enforcement and the local media should have an obligation to continually publicize something this horrible.
I really hope that this case is not forgotten, and that Yesli and Angel's family can get the justice they deserve.
