So here's an idea I came up with as I was working on the 2002 guide - as you know, in my notes I always list where the episode in question was filmed. Well, I thought it might be a good idea to compile all the states John Walsh visited to see where they were filmed.
In alphabetical order, here's what I've discovered:
Arizona - The 2005 episode dedicated to finding Jason Brown was filmed here, and I believe one of the Lifetime episodes was filmed here as well.
Arkansas - John visited here in 2008 to profile the escape of Humberto Fortanelli and the unsolved murder of Missy Witt.
California - AMW has filmed here many times over the years.
Colorado - The show came here in 2009 to profile Lawrence Pusateri, the unknown Al Kite Killer and Robert Snyder.
Florida - AMW has filmed here countless times.
Georgia - John visited Georgia in late 2005 to profile Jason Howard.
Hawaii - In 2007, John came to Hawaii to update viewers on Henry Calucag as well as profile the unknown Hawaii Serial Killer.
Illinois - I can think of three episodes off the top of my head that were filmed in Chicago, and I know there was an early episode filmed in central Illinois.
Indiana - I've never seen the episode, but I've heard that John Walsh came to Indiana in late 2001 to profile Jill Behrman's disappearance. Can somebody who has actually seen this episode confirm?
Kansas - John came here in 2002 to profile some cases in Kansas City and in 2004 to profile BTK.
Louisiana - I know John came here in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina and there's an episode on YouTube from 1996 where he reported from the French Quarter in New Orleans.
Maryland - The show has filmed here a number of times, as it's not far from DC, where AMW was filmed.
Massachusetts - John came to Massachusetts in 2003 to profile Whitey Bulger and other Bay State cases.
Missouri - I know he came here at least once in 2002 to profile Precious Doe and the Missouri River Serial Killer.
Nevada - Nearly every Bad Girls edition was filmed in Las Vegas.
New Jersey - John Walsh did a ride-along with the New York/New Jersey Fugitive Task Force in 2009. That same year he also profiled the Baby Bones murder.
New Mexico - AMW has been here on a number of occasions, including 2004 and 2009.
New York - We could do an entire thread on how many times AMW has filmed here.
Oklahoma - I've never seen the episode, but I know for a fact that John Walsh traveled to Oklahoma City after the bombing in 1995 and even profiled Terry Nichols before he was identified as the second suspect.
Pennsylvania - Along with the Baby Bones case, John Walsh visited Philadelphia to profile the Beau Zabel murder, as well as visit with Frank Bender (who was based in Philly).
South Carolina - John came here during the Lifetime era to profile the Chesnee Quadruple Murder and Dan Hiers.
South Dakota - During Sturgis in 2007, John Walsh came here to do a show about Operation: FALCON as they hunted outlaw bikers.
Texas - The show came to the Lone Star State back in 2001 after the Texas Seven broke out, and in 2010 to do an update on the Yogurt Shop Murders.
Virginia - Much like Maryland, AMW has gone to Virginia a number of times due to its proximity to DC.
Washington - One of the final FOX episodes was filmed in Seattle as part of a crossover with Seattle's Most Wanted.
Wyoming - John and AMW visited Jackson Hole in 2009 to do an entire show about the unsolved murder of Ben Bradley.
That's 26 states that I know for sure AMW has filmed in, but are there any others? I'd like to see if we can confirm that AMW has filmed in all 50 states
Also, let me clarify; when I say where AMW has filmed, I explicitly mean John Walsh and the main production crew. Obviously producers themselves and AMW have profiled cases from every state, but I'd like to know if John himself has done so for the show.
