LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Authorities in Pine Bluff are searching for a 26-year-old suspect they say should be considered armed and dangerous following the attempted capital murder of a police officer Thursday afternoon.
According to police, Chaderious Avery was involved in a shooting in the parking lot of the Camelot Townhouses & Apartments on Old Warren Road when an officer's patrol vehicle was struck with the officer inside.
"The officer sustained minor injuries in this incident but was not shot," police said in a news release.
Avery is described as a black male standing 5 feet and 11 inches tall. He has brown eyes and black hair with twists and a beard.
His last known address is at the Camelot apartment complex in unit 12, police said.
Following the shooting, police said detectives were able to arrest another suspect, 24-year-old Quantavious Sission, near the apartments with the assistance of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas State Police.
Sission was taken to the Jefferson County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of attempted capital murder, possession of a firearm by certain persons, terroristic act, and engaging in a violent criminal act.
Police said Avery is wanted on the same charges as Sission.
"Detectives are still out investigating this incident and following up on every lead," police said.
Anyone with information into Avery's whereabouts is asked to contact the Pine Bluff Police Department's detective office tip-line at (870) 730-2106, Detective Corey Wilfong at (870) 730-2090, or the department's dispatch center at (870) 541-5300.
