(WAND) -The Sangamon County Coroner has identified the 24-year-old Springfield woman, who was found stabbed to death Tuesday evening. The Coroner identified the deceased as Emma Shafer, and reports she died from multiple sharp force injuries. Shafer's death remains under investigation by the the Sangamon County Coroner and the Springfield Police Department. Police said, Sangamon County Dispatch took a call from a woman in Bethalto, Illinois around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. She said her brother had possibly injured his girlfriend who lives in Springfield. Officers responded to the 1000 block of S. 8th Street to check on the welfare of the female resident. Upon arrival, police found Shafer dead with multiple stab wounds. On Wednesday, Sangamon County State’s Attorney Dan Wright issued an arrest warrant for Gabriel P. Calixto, 25, for three counts of first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery with a bond amount of $3,000,000. The Springfield Police Department is actively searching for Calixto with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and additional agencies. The identity of the victim will be released by the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office. Because I know a lot of forum readers are interested in this manhunt, I am making Calixto one of our fugitives of the week for this current week. Let's hope justice happens soon.

This guy would be an excellent case for in pursuit kind of reminds me of Jose Rico Riveria just for the sheer brutality of it calixto is most likely south of the border in pursuit has managed to bring several fugitive back from Mexico and central America including rj mcleod jeffre winston forrest or luis octavio frias

The case is being considered for In Pursuit as far as I know. They usually prefer recent but not too recent so a lot will depend on when the new season starts.

I don’t think that is a very reliable website and it does not provide any details on the arrest. This case is high profile enough that when Gabriel is hopefully arrested, the local media will publicize it. I also checked Sangamon County’s court records database which shows no case events since last September when there was a judicial assignment. In addition to being a high profile case, I have interested readers aware of our site coverage on this case that I’m sure would let us know as well.
Sometimes a fugitive is captured in Mexico or another country and it is kept clandestine but right now there’s nothing to indicate that.
I do hope if Calixto is still at large (and I’m assuming he unfortunately still is) I hope he is considered for the U.S. Marshals Top 15 list.
Very frustrating manhunt for a guy who should never been out of jail in the first place.
