HOUSTON – Harris County investigators have identified a suspect in the New Year's Day shooting death of a 12-year-old boy. Kahlid Yusuf Worrell, 24, is now charged with murder but he is still on the run. Harris County Sheriff's deputies believe Worrell is the gunman who killed Deunte Cooks at a home in the 2500 block of Bammelwood in northwest Harris County. The boy's brother, 23-year-old Dashawn Norwood, was also shot multiple times but he survived. A third victim, identified as Rogerious Grant, was grazed by a bullet. Relatives say the gunman knocked on the door and asked for Norwood. When Norwood jumped out a window to escape, the suspect shot him in the mouth. Deunte was likely gunned down because he witnessed his brother's shooting. Worrell is known as "Chirp" on the streets. Anyone with information on Worrell's whereabouts is asked to call the HCSO Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).www.khou.com/story/news/crime/2015/01/05/suspect-identified-in-shooting-death-of-12-year-old-boy/21300411/

Unfortunately, we have our first breaking news fugitive case of 2015 already. What makes this even worse is this isn't just a case where a young boy is killed in crossfire- this may have been deliberate. I hope Worrell is apprehended fast...
