CAUTION
Miguel Angel Perez is wanted for several crimes which took place in Chula Vista, California. On April 27, 2001, Perez reportedly drove his vehicle in front of another vehicle with two male occupants. Perez and the passenger of the other vehicle both exited their vehicles and engaged in conversation. As the passenger of the other vehicle began to leave the conversation, Perez allegedly retrieved a gun and shot him in the back. Perez then allegedly fired several shots at the driver of the vehicle, hitting him in the arm and chest area. The driver fled the scene and Perez did as well. The passenger died at the scene after reportedly being shot 20 times. Perez and the passenger had known each other since high school and reportedly were enemies for several years prior to the crime.
On May 23, 2001, a state arrest warrant was issued by the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego, Central Division, charging Miguel Angel Perez with the felony crimes of murder, premeditated attempted murder, and assault with semi-automatic firearm. Perez was subsequently charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in a federal arrest warrant issued by the United States District Court, Southern District of California, on September 5, 2002.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Chula Vista Police Department at 619-691-5151 if you have any information on Miguel Angel Perez's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, September 27, 2022, Miguel has an active state warrant in San Diego County's court records database. A search of PACER records shows that his UFAP (Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution) warrant was dismissed without prejudice in 2016. The reason was that prosecution was not possible at the time (because Miguel was not in custody) and to conserve prosecutorial resources.
PACER records also mentioned that the name of the murder victim is Raciel Anguiano. I wanted to mention this out of respect to Raciel's family who deserves justice. Sadly this case seems to be going nowhere as far as leads and developments go. The UFAP warrant was issued because it was believed that Miguel had gone to Guadalajara with relatives.
