Jose Umanzor Santos is wanted for the homicide of his common-law wife, 43-year old Esther Tavira. According to a document in the Dallas County court records database, Jose had abused Esther previously and threatened to kill her because she was talking to another man. Jose allegedly shot Esther to death in the courtyard of an apartment complex. A witness identified him fleeing the scene.

Thoughts? As of today, August 14, 2022, there is no disposition for Jose's case in the Dallas County Court records database. There are also no uploaded case documents in the court documents database after 2004. I am concluding that this means Jose is still a fugitive. I did not see an UFAP (Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution) warrant for Jose in PACER.
Hopefully Esther's family can get justice someday.
