The FBI is searching for the unidentified killer of seven-year old Morgan Violi. AMW aired this case twice in 1996 and once in 1997.
On Jul 24, 1996, Morgan was playing outside her Bowling Green apartment with her sister and a friend. Suddenly a maroon van pulled up and a man got out, grabbed Morgan and pulled her inside, then driving away. On Oct 20, 1996, a hiker found Morgan's remains 40 miles away in Robertson County, Tennessee. The maroon van was later located in Franklin, Tennessee. It had been stolen two days before Morgan was abducted in Dayton, Ohio. Investigators were also seeking a white van found parked near where Morgan's remains were found on the day of her abduction, but it was never located.
Morgan's abductor was described at the time as a white male in his 20's, with shoulder-length sandy blonde hair, well defined muscles and approximately 6'1 and weighing 180 lbs.
Thoughts? Judging by the fact that Morgan's killer could travel from Ohio, to Kentucky and finally to Tennessee in such a short period of time, he seemed to have put a lot of planning in Morgan's abduction and murder. I just wish AMW had given this case more attention since there are actually a lot of clues and a good sketch to work with.
NOTE: Some have mentioned similarities between the murder of Morgan Violi and the murder of nine-year old Jackie Beard. Jackie was abducted, raped and murdered in Tennessee in Jul 1996 as well. William Glenn Rogers was convicted and sentenced to death for Jackie's murder. I'm not sure what to make of him possibly being Morgan's killer.
