I'm getting reports Lermon is not a fugitive and has been incarcerated since late 2020. If you look at his DPS profile, it literally says he bonded out of jail after his 2020 arrest.
I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be added to the Texas DPS Top Ten list if he wasn't a wanted fugitive and didn't become considered a fugitive once again for whatever reasons.
In any case, this is only a fan site of AMW/In Pursuit who posts cases we find online. If anyone has an issue with Lermon being considered a fugitive, take it up with Texas DPS or the Lubbock P.D. and not us.

If anyone has an issue with Lermon being considered a fugitive, take it up with Texas DPS or the Lubbock P.D. and not us. My daughter was the passenger in the car driven by Tanner Lermon. She was the one he killed. I can give you the horrible time line of events since her death if you want but today, I found out where he was by myself in about an hours time. He was on the local gang task force page and texas top 10 and over the weekend he was removed from the top 10 list and even the wanted fugitive list. I made several calls today and couldn’t find any information. I then went on the DPS website and paid to pull his criminal record and found that he was sentenced to time in TDCJ and is still and has been in the Hudspeth County Jail since December 23rd. The warrant for manslaughter for the accident that killed my daughter was issued December 7th. He was sentenced to 10 years for one charge and 15 years for the 2nd charge, to be served concurrently. So I’m mad and angry that no one has been able to find him and it’s ridiculous that I found him.

Hi themrsirwin,
I stand corrected and it's amazing they put someone on the list already in jail.
I also apologize if you were the person who contacted us. I had assumed (if it was you) you were a friend of Tanner's who was just upset he was being considered a fugitive. I wouldn't have had the same tone had I known it was actually someone actually against Tanner's actions let alone you being the mother of the victim.
I am also sorry that it does not feel like justice is served here. It sucks and I wish I could say something to make it better but I know I can't other than saying how sorry I am for all you've been through.

I am also sorry that it does not feel like justice is served here. It sucks and I wish I could say something to make it better but I know I can't other than saying how sorry I am for all you've been through. I didn't contact other than my previous response to your post. If someone messaged you in support of this monster, I think any kind of tone you took was probably well deserved. My daughter didn't always do the right thing but she didn't deserve to die in the middle of a highway because this horrible person was under the influence of Meth and marijuana and chose to drive. I also received a copy of the investigative report and he blamed her repeatedly for the horrific accident and said she was driving. The vehicle traveling behind them was a work vehicle and they had a camera that caught the entire accident and the driver of that car is the one that held my daughter while she passed and saw everything so there is no question who was at fault...and it wasn't my daughter. As of now, this monster is still in Hudspeth County as far as I know. I'm in communication with the district attorney handling the case and he was making calls to get him transferred back to our county to face these charges. He was sentenced to 10 years for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and 15 years for Aggravated Robbery. The Manslaughter has a maximum sentence of 20 years so its a bit of a let down but he is going to serve time no matter what. At the time of the accident, he was only arrested for possession of Meth and Dangerous drugs. The accident was on April 30,2020 and he also had a bond forfeiture charge because he was out on bond when the wreck happened. He was in jail from April 30th to October of 2020. Because of Covid, the lab to process drug toxicology was working at 25% personnel and all of Texas blood tests go to central lab. The toxicology came back in May of 2021, so 13 months after the accident. He was then indicted in December of 2021 for the manslaughter charge. He was then arrested a couple weeks later for these other charges. He appeared on the gang task force site for our county and then he was removed and then he was on the texas top 10 and it was there for quite awhile and then his face was plastered all over news outlets and still Hudspeth County did catch the outstanding warrant. So my mom grief took over and I went into super sleuth mode and found him. There is so much more to it all but its just nightmare upon nightmare and I am waiting for the day I can look him in the eyes so he knows what he took from me and my family.

Yeah someone tried to register and tell us he was in jail already and even before he was added to the DPS Top Ten list- but I'm used to friends or family members pretending that a fugitive was already captured that I didn't believe them. I guess a broken clock is right twice a day after all.
I am glad Tanner is facing some justice at least.

P.S. While I am sorry for the reasons and all you've been through, you did do excellent detective work locating Tanner.

Crazy someone would come here and say he was already in jail but they couldn't give a tip on the top 10 most wanted site where it would matter...go figure. Rage doesn't even begin to describe my anger in the last few days with all of this.
