Carlos Mendez is wanted for the homicide of Eraclio Ortiz. Information on this case was provided by a document in the Dallas County Court Records database.
Authorities say that Carlos and 11 other members of a gang pulled up to an apartment complex in two vehicles. Carlos got out and walked towards two people with a gun. The two noticed the gun that Carlos had and tried to run away from him. Carlos chased after them and as one of the two tried to get inside an apartment room, Carlos allegedly fired several gunshots. Eraclio Ortiz, who looked through his window, was struck and died shortly afterwards.
Several witnesses identified Carlos as the alleged shooter, but he remains at large.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact North Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-877-373-TIPS (8477) if you have any information on Carlos Mendez's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, April 17, 2022, Carlos Mendez is still on the North Texas Crime Stoppers website as one of their profiled fugitive. There is also no disposition for Carlos's murder case in the Dallas County Court Records database, and no case documents uploaded to the Dallas County Court Documents database since 2004.
Just want to clarify that Carlos's warrant in the Dallas County Court Records database is showing "cancelled". I'm not sure what's going on with the court database website, but it's the same thing for Juan Delacruz who is still on the TXDPS fugitives list as well as a lot of other fugitives that will get threads here soon. I got the photos for the upcoming fugitives from the Dallas Morning News archives. In all of these cases, there is no disposition entry, rather than there being a dismissed disposition.
Anyway, it's really horrible that Eraclio wasn't even an intended target and was killed for simply looking out of his window. Hopefully Carlos can be apprehended soon.
