James, 62, as a person of interest in connection with Tuesday morning’s Brooklyn subway attack. Officials do not have evidence he was the same person who actually committed the shooting. Ten people were shot in the attack. James’ name was connected to a U-Haul sought in connection with the attack, official said. A key was left behind at the scene of the shooting. Police connected that to a U-Haul with Arizona plates, which they later located in Brooklyn. James had rented the U-Haul. “We’re looking to determine if he has any connection to the train,” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said. There were some “concerning” social media posts police believe may be connected to James, NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said. They mentioned homelessness and New York City Mayor Eric Adams. Security for the mayor was increased because of the posts. James has addresses in Wisconsin and Philadelphia. The U-Haul was rented in Philadelphia. At the scene of the attack, officers also recovered a 9mm semi-automatic weapon and a hatchet. They found a liquid believed to be gasoline and a bag with commercial-grade fireworks inside. No arrests have been made. Police described the suspected gunman as being around 5 feet, 5 inches tall. The man weighs around 175-200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gas mask and a construction vest. Police initially said the vest was green, but later officials said it was orange. The man also had on a gray, hooded sweatshirt.

That doesn't mean it can't change to official charges soon, but it is important he be located to determine if there was any involvement.

Murder or committing acts which hurt multiple people in the name of views, an ideology, or believing in some crap conspiracy is sick in it of itself. Like there were probably kids on their way to school on the subway yesterday when this happened and then you have these people who are unstable or willing to kill for an ideology doing these stupid things. |

Yeah mental health issues are the rare times I'm sympathetic but they can't just be used as a blanket excuse for every situation.
This James guy if guilty (I hate having to speak in these terms just I have to write in journalistic terms as the admin- on my personal Facebook page it would be "This obvious guilty "person of interest" piece of sh**) seems like he had things planned out and knew what he was doing.
I hate the inevitable racism or that will come out from the fact James is African-American but we need to start calling mass shootings terrorist attacks whether the subject is Arab, White black Hispanic etc....

Good. Needs to be caught right away if still alive because if he didn't kill himself and knows everyone he shot survived, he'll be disappointed and itching to finish his deranged crusade and actually kill people the next time.

Thanks everyone. To be honest I knew James was caught before zekcat posted it but I was at work and figured everyone else would find out also and was just like "I'll let everyone else update and pick up the slack for me" lol.
It seems James called Crime Stoppers on himself (maybe he's so insane he thought he'd get reward money) but others spotted him and called as well.
It is a miracle no one died, and I wish for a speedy recovery for all those injured.

It appears a 21 year old man named Zack Tahhan, spotted Frank James walking down the street in the East Village and alerted police leading to James’ eventual capture. James pleaded guilty to federal charges and has been sentenced to 10 life sentences but is awaiting trial for the state charges safe to say he's not going to get out anytime soon CNN is the source
