GILROY, Calif. —
It's been one month since someone brutally murdered 56-year-old Robert Joseph Heiser in his Gilroy house, and this week, a 17-year-old girl connected to the case remained at-large.
Heiser was found unconscious on Feb. 16 when neighbors called police to complain about dogs barking loudly. Paramedics attempted to save his life before he was pronounced dead. Detectives said there were no signs that someone had forced their way into the house on Bay Tree Drive.
Police believe Heiser was targeted by a group of women and men conspiring together to rob him.
One woman and two men have been arrested on homicide charges: Gabriela Bernice Ortiz, 19, of San Jose; Rodrigo Bejarano, 22; and Gerardo Cisneros, 20. They were booked into Santa Clara County Jail and have not entered pleas in court.
Gilroy police are searching for Isabella Chaidez, 17, of San Jose.
She has been on the run ever since detectives identified her as one of two women who were recorded by a convenience store's surveillance camera hours after Heiser died. The women were smiling as they shopped by using the dead man's credit card. The second woman in the video was identified as Ortiz.
Anyone with information relating to this crime is urged to call Detective Eric Cryar at 408-846-0330 or 408-846-0350.
An obituary printed for Heiser said he was born in Florida and attended Leigh High School in San Jose.
"Bob built a successful sales career that included 14 years with Aspect Communications where he last served as regional vice president of foundation account sales. He also volunteered as site coordinator for the Gilroy distribution center of Second Harvest Food Bank," the obituary wrote.

Thoughts? Despite Chaidez only being 17-years-old at the time of the alleged charges (she'd be around 24 years old now), it would appear she is still at large as of today's posting date (April 3rd, 2022), since the case against her is still listed as active in a search of Santa Clara County's online records.
Also the case is seven years old. I highlighted the detective names in the article but if any numbers have changed as to who to contact if they have information on Chaidez's whereabouts, they are more than welcome to let us know.
