Prosecutor Ray Gricar disappeared nearly a decade ago. His case was aired on the Investigation Discovery show Disappeared and was featured on amw.com, but not the AMW show.
Ray Gricar served as the district attorney for Centre County, Pennsylvania for 20 years, prosecuting cases such as the 1996 Penn State University shooting. In 1998, he declined to press charges against Jerry Sandusky for sexually abusing young boys in the Penn State sexual abuse scandal. Sandusky would be charged 13 years later. In 2004, he announced that he would retire from the professional in December 2005.
On Apr 15, 2005, Gricar called his girlfriend to inform her of where he was driving. His vehicle was later found at an antique store after he failed to return home. His vehicle was found near where the vehicle of his older brother Roy was located in 1996. Roy's body was later found in a river. Three months later, his computer and a hard drive possibly belonging to him were found in another river. The hard drive was so badly damaged that nothing could be recovered from it. A few years later, police revealed that someone at the home of Gricar and his girlfriend did online searches regarding how to destroy a hard drive and the effects of water on a laptop.

Thoughts? There have been a lot of theories regarding this case. Some think that the disappearance is connected to the Penn State sexual abuse scandal. The issue I have with that is that Ray disappeared in 2005, seven years after he declined to press charges and six years before Jerry Sandusky was finally charged. Then there's the Roy Gricar connection. Roy suffered from bipolar disorder and his death was ruled a suicide, so Ray possibly committed suicide as well. However, cigarette ashes were discovered in Ray's car, Ray didn't smoke and didn't allow anyone else to smoke inside his vehicle, so most likely someone else at one point was using the car.
As for the internet searches, unless someone else had regular access to the computer, why would Ray or his girlfriend, Patty Fornicola look that information up. From what I can tell, Patty has never publicly been suspected of having any involvement in Ray's disappearance though.
This whole case is just baffling and weird.
