BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A man is wanted in a Bedford Heights shooting that left one woman dead and another hurt, police said.
Bernard Walter Lewis Lonnie Sparks is wanted in the deadly shooting that happened Wednesday at Bear Creek Apartments, just south of Columbus Road, according to Bedford Heights police. He is not in custody, but a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Zahir Montez Garrett, 25, of Cleveland, was shot and died after being taken to Hillcrest Hospital, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
A woman called police to report that a man, later identified as Sparks, had shot her friend, police said.
Officers arrived and found Garrett shot. The woman who called police had also been shot, police said.
Paramedics took both of them to the hospital, where Garrett was pronounced dead a short time later. The other woman is still being treated for her injuries, police said.
Police have not released any more information about the shooting.
Police found the car he used to drive away from the shooting, but it was unoccupied, police said.

Thoughts? We know for sure Sparks is unfortunately still at large at least as of today's posting date (January 24th, 2022), since he was just named the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitives Task Force's fugitive of the week for this current week.
