Eloina Reyna is wanted in connection with the death of her 17-month old son, Edilberto Pacheco Jr.
Authorities allege that Eloina left Edilberto with his four-year old sister in a bathtub with Eloina went to sleep. Her four-year old daughter would soon call out for her mother. When Eloina went to check on her children, Edilberto had died from drowning in the bathtub.
Child Protective Services would take the four-year old into custody. There were no previous reported incidents of abuse or neglect related to Eloina's parenting. Originally charged with child endangerment, Eloina would later be charged with manslaughter on January 4, 2002. Unfortunately, she has since become a fugitive and has never been arrested.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS if you have any information on Eloina Reyna's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, January 11, 2022, Eloina is listed as having a warrant/not in custody according to Harris County's court records database. I did not see an UFAP case for her in PACER.
Here we have another one of these cases where a parent is charged with manslaughter (and not homicide) in connection with the death of their small child. I'm specifically mentioning the charge of manslaughter because Eloina probably made this a lot more difficult than it needed to be by going on the run.
Despite the charge, there is no excuse for leaving your small children in a bathtub with water while you go to sleep. I am not a parent and even I know that is an obvious hazard, especially when you leave a 17-month old alone with his four-year old sister. Eloina needs to face a court of law and accept the consequences for her alleged horrible parenting. I'm especially concerned if she had any more children while living her life as a fugitive.
