The following case summary will use terms such as "allegedly". This website stands by the victims of sexual abuse/assault, we just have to be careful with our liability policy when it comes to these specific cases. The information was also obtained from a public document in the Palm Beach County Court Records database.
On December 16, 2005, authorities allege that a woman was abducted from a parking lot by a man holding a beer bottle. The woman was forced to drive to a different location where she was struck in the head with a beer bottle, causing lacerations to her head and neck. The woman was then sexually assaulted. She then tried to escape from the vehicle that she was being held captive in. Before she escaped, the rapist tried to grab her and cut her again with the beer bottle.
The woman was treated at a medical center and a DNA profile was created, but at the time it did not identify the rapist. In February of 2006, it did match the profile from an unsolved sexual assault case out of Orange County, Florida. In that case, a woman who was working as a cab driver was sexually assaulted at knifepoint.
In 2010, the sexual assault cases in Florida were linked by DNA to a 2003 sexual assault case out of Annapolis, Maryland. In that case, a woman was sexually assaulted by a man who had broken into her home. An arrest warrant was issued in that case for Jose Menjivar, but he was never arrested. A photo lineup was shown to the victim in the 2005 case in Palm Beach County, Florida, who picked out Jose Menjivar.
Jose Menjivar was then identified as the suspect who allegedly raped all three of the victims in both Maryland and Florida. Arrest warrants were then issued for Jose in Palm Beach and Orange counties.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office at 561-688-3000 if you have any information on Jose Menjivar's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, December 16, 2005, Jose still has a listed warrant out of Orange County in Florida's statewide warrant database. The Palm Beach County Court Records database has his case shaded in the color yellow, which means that there is an active arrest warrant.
I am actually frustrated that this case has not gotten very much publicity. I know it is a sensitive matter to discuss these types of cases, but there are three survivors that we know of who were allegedly assaulted by Menjivar. Considering that most of these crimes are not reported, I fear there are more victims out there.
Also when he fled Maryland in 2003, he went to Florida and not his native country of El Salvador. This makes me believe that he may still be in the US somewhere. I did not see an UFAP case for him in PACER.
