From kcrtv.com:
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — Butte County detectives have made an arrest in connection to the disappearance and suspected murder of two Alabama men traveling into the area in November of this year. One suspect remains at large but officials are actively seeking his arrest.
The Butte County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) said two men from Alabama, Ladexter Pelt, 25, and John Dubose, 20, traveled to the Butte County area in November. However, their family lost contact with them shortly after arriving in the county, became worried, and then contacted Gridley Police to report them missing.
On November 13, Gridley Police asked BCSO to help with the investigation.
Over the last three weeks, BCSO said their detectives interviewed people in Gridley, Marysville, Yuba City, Sacramento, the Bay Area, and the Los Angeles area. After numerous search warrants and interviews, BCSO said their detectives found evidence leading them to believe Pelt and Dubose were murdered at a home in an unincorporated area of Gridley. They also found evidence that gave them to believe two Gridley men, Ricardo and Alfredo Banuelos-Villarreal, murdered Pelt and Dubose and hid their bodies.
BCSO said their detectives are actively searching for the bodies of Pelt and Dubose.
Detectives found Ricardo at a home in Yuba City on November 14 and arrested him on two counts of murder. He is currently inside the Butte County Jail.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Alfredo for two counts of murder and officials say they are actively searching for him.
Alfredo Banuelos-Villarreal, 35, of Gridley, was last seen driving a 2008 Nissan Altima with license plate number 6VAR204.
Anyone with information about this investigation, the location of Alfredo, or his Nissan Altima, should contact detectives at (530) 538-7671.
BCSO says the investigation is ongoing and additional information will be provided when available.

Thoughts? Based on the most recent articles that I could find online, Banuelos-Villarreal was still at large at least as of December 8th, 2021.
