From the Houston Chronicle: (2007 article)
A man charged with helping force his girlfriend's young daughters into prostitution was "inadvertently" released from a city jail early Friday morning, Houston police officials said.
Pedro Espinoza-Escama, 21, and his girlfriend, 35-year-old Nelsi Yolanda Latuda, were arrested Sunday on Class C misdemeanor charges and questioned in connection with a prostitution investigation, HPD spokesman Nate McDuell said.
After finding probable cause, investigators charged the couple Tuesday with two counts each of compelling prostitution of a minor. Police say Latuda forced her 16- and 14-year-old daughters into prostitution, saying the mother even distributed business cards offering them for sex.
McDuell said Espinoza-Escama was "inadvertently" released on the misdemeanor charges from the Southeast Division jail, at 8300 Mykawa, around 3:15 a.m.Friday.
Authorities are not sure when Espinoza-Escama's charges were updated to felonies in the computer system, McDuell said.
"Obviously, this shouldn't have happened," he said, adding that an internal investigation has been launched. "We are trying to determine if it is a human error, a processing error or a computer error."
Latuda is being held in Harris County Jail with bail set at $10,000.
Juvenile Division Lt. William Staney said HPD had notified all area law enforcement officials, as well as the Border Patrol.
"We don't know whether he was driving a car, so we also alerted all public transportation authorities," Staney said.
Anyone with information about him is urged to call the Juvenile Sex Crimes Division at 713-731-5335 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Thoughts? The above article I stress is from 2007 however 14 years later and Espinoza-Escama is still listed as having a warrant/still not in custody according to a search of Harris County's online criminal court records, thanks in no large part to whoever or whatever caused the idiotic mistake.
Also checked and Nelsi Latuda plead guilty and was sentenced to 10 years (likely because she pleaded guilty is why she received a relatively light sentence)
