From lmtonline.con:
Authorities have released images of two men wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman reported at a north Laredo home about two weeks ago.
One man was identified as Jael Elian Madrigal Mendez, 21, while the other suspect remains unidentified. The unidentified man appears to be a Hispanic male with a beard. Both are considered armed and dangerous, according to police. Authorities said they should not be approached.
To report their whereabouts, call LPD at 795-2800 or Laredo Crime Stoppers at 727-TIPS (8477). Information provided via Crime Stopper may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Callers will remain anonymous.
Police first arrested Jose Angel Chavez-Ramirez on Aug. 13 on the charges of murder, evading arrest, evading arrest with a vehicle and 10 counts of smuggling of a person. The murder charge was later dismissed due to “no probable cause found,” custody records show.
Authorities identified Chavez-Ramirez as the getaway driver who picked up Madrigal Mendez and the other male at the Family Dollar on 9105 McPherson Road. Chavez-Ramirez remained behind bars as of Friday evening, according to Webb County Jail records.
Laredo police said the case occurred at about 4:32 p.m. Aug. 10. Officers responded to a report of two men seen running away from the 1200 block of Brown Drive. Police could not locate the men but did discover a blue Nissan Sentra with the trunk and passenger door open.
Authorities said they seized two handguns in plain view located on the floorboard of the passenger side.
LPD then received a call regarding the front door of a home in the 9000 block of Cornell Drive being open for more than an hour. Officers conducted a welfare check and discovered a woman lying face down in a pool of blood in the living room.
Police identified her as Sylvia Adriana Medrano Gonzalez, 51. Authorities said five bullet casings were recovered inside the residence and one casing was located just outside the front door. Authorities determined that the Nissan located by the 1200 block of Brown was the possible suspect vehicle linked to the homicide at the home on Cornell.
Surveillance video from the area captured two men fleeing the home in the 9000 block of Cornell. They were then observed inside the Nissan driving south on Cornell and then abandoning the vehicle on Brown. Both then fled on foot, according to court documents.
Surveillance from several locations where the homicide occurred showed the men exiting the Nissan and approaching the home on Cornell. Police said surveillance cameras from the area recorded audio from the gunshots. Police said the men then entered a maroon Chevy Tahoe with a rusted roof at the Family Dollar on 9105 McPherson Rd. A lookout was placed for the men and the Tahoe.
At about 5:26 p.m. Aug. 12, a vehicle pursuit ensued when police attempted to stop the Tahoe with the rusted roof. The Tahoe eventually stopped at the intersection of Plum Street and North Martin Avenue, where 10 migrants exited the Tahoe and ran in several directions. U.S. Border Patrol took custody of the migrants.
Police identified the driver of the Tahoe as Chavez-Ramirez. He allegedly stated that he did pick up two men from the Family Dollar on McPherson.
“Jose (Chavez-Ramirez) stated he dropped off the two male subjects by the Lafayette Bridge,” states the affidavit.
