Reward:
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Nyiah Courtney. Additional reward money may be available.
Details:
On July 16, 2021, at approximately 11:11 p.m., members of Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department's 7th District were in the area of the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, SE, Washington, D.C., when they heard the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials located a juvenile female, two adult females and two adult males. All had sustained gunshot wounds and received treatment at area hospitals. A sixth victim, an adult male, sought treatment at a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. After all life-saving efforts failed, the juvenile victim, identified as six-year-old Nyiah Courtney, succumbed to her injuries. The adult victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The FBI and ATF are working in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Department in this investigation.
THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS CRIME SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS
