Eliseo Morfin is wanted for a triple homicide that was committed over 40 years ago.
Eliseo was married to his wife Rachel, a marriage that was full of domestic abuse. As a result, Rachel had fled from Houston to San Antonio to escape him.
Eliseo went to the home of his wife's relatives. Authorities then allege that Eliseo shot and killed his mother-in-law, 48-year old Lupe Araiza; his sister-in-law, 22-year old Lindy Fonseca, and a family friend 35-year old Ernest Barrera. An eight-year old girl was also shot in the face as she was being held by her mother.
Eliseo is believed to have returned to Mexico after the triple homicide. The only mention in the media after 1979 was in a story from 1996 where they were talking about fugitive homicide suspects from Texas and the hope that they would be extradited from Mexico.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS if you have any information on Eliseo Morfin's whereabouts.

Thoughts? There is a lot that needs to be said about this case. The first is that as of today, July 22, 2021, Eliseo is listed as "not in custody" in Harris County's court records database. This is our reference that proves he is still a fugitive.
Before I posted this thread today, I actually posted an inquiry about this case in a FB cold case group. I did not directly mention amwfans.com in the group as I know this site is mistaken a lot as being run by John Walsh/Investigation Discovery. I just wanted to know if anyone in that group who lived in Houston had access to the Houston Chronicle records from 1979. The newspaper does have text article records on Newslibrary, but that only goes back to late 1985.
Surprisingly, someone did have access to the 1979 records and gave me some articles. This included an image of Eliseo. I'm fully aware that the image quality is really bad (considering it's from a 1979 newspaper), but I wanted to post it because someone took the time to look this case up.
Finally, I am really frustrated as the complete lack of attention this case has received. Eliseo isn't as old as some other long-time cold case fugitives, but it seems like no one has taken the time to post this story on the internet. It makes me wonder how many other fugitive cases from the 1970s may be in a similar situation. I just wanted to post this due to the sheer brutality of this crime and so that we could say that the public wanted to do something about this case.
