(Above photo credits: FBI.gov website) From the FBI.gov website: Details: The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Baltimore Field Office is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a woman whose body was found at Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, Maryland, on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Law Enforcement Agencies responded to the National Park Saturday afternoon after a portion of the woman’s body was discovered by hikers in the surrounding area of the Park. The cause of death is still pending an autopsy. Based on the condition of the body, it is unclear how long it was there. The woman had long, dark hair with braids. She was wearing a black track suit, wrist guard, and red Nike shoes. She was also found with a Puma handbag and a set of keys containing an El Salvador keychain. Im going to speculate here that perhaps this is foul play on behalf of MS13 and dumped her somewhere outside of their control area or this young lady was badly injured or sadly ended her own life there, but as a cause of death has not yet been determined for me to make a speculation on what happened is still too early, but one should take into account that if she was the victim of foul play, MS13 is a likely culprit given their influence in the Washington and Baltimore areas and given the areas Hispanic population is predominantly people of Central American descent.

thanks for the update. I've changed the thread title to "Death of Joanna Amaya" since this is still an undetermined death investigation case and not an official murder case. Her death does seem highly suspicious and sadly it just seems like her body was too decomposed to determine. She is a victim no matter what, as something sad happened to her and it's just a matter whether she is a murder victim or victim in a different sense of the word (a suicide for example would make her a victim of personal demons she couldn't get rid of), but your theories make sense if she was harmed.

She is a victim no matter what, as something sad happened to her and it's just a matter whether she is a murder victim or victim in a different sense of the word (a suicide for example would make her a victim of personal demons she couldn't get rid of), but your theories make sense if she was harmed. I’m beginning to lean more towards her having personal demons, considering she cut contact with family months before she was found deceased. This could range from her hanging with the wrong crowd and something happened like an overdose and she died and the people she was with panicked and disposed of her the way they allegedly did. The other theory I have in mind is she may have been contemplating suicide and had cut contact with family to detach from them and make it less emotionally painful. |
